This
art form had been used in the ancient world but emerged as a generic term in the
late 1800's as people experimented with this method.
At
its simplest, Pate- de -Verre means filling an empty mould with grains of glass
and heating it until the grains fuse together to create a single form.
I like using this form of glass as it gives the soft , translucent, granular quality.
