works in glass

This art form had been used in the ancient world but emerged as a generic term in the late 1800's as people experimented with this method.

At its simplest, Pate- de -Verre means filling an empty mould with grains of glass and heating it until the grains fuse together to create a single form.

I like using this form of glass as it gives the soft , translucent, granular quality. The piece, Female form,(upper left) won first prize at the Sydney Royal show 1999 in the glass section..Sailing ship has a combination pate-de-Verre and pyrex Glass rigging clay and sandstone base .New work in progress are forms made of broken bottles photos soon.li is work in ng Sailing
