Peter Harves of Coolangatta Pottery
Education and Work History
Initially educated at Sydney and went on to complete secondary school at Armidale NSW. I studied mechanical engineering at TAFE before beginning to work at my father's workshop- Florenz Pottery in Brookvale. Florenz Pottery was the training ground of many successful potters including Harry Mammot. Florenz Pottery produced slip cast wares, hand thrown pots and technical ceramics. In 1977 my wife and I established Coolangatta Craft Centre where we have been for the past 22 years. We sold the center in 2003 and now work from our studio at the foothills of mt Coolangatta
